During the post-final presentation, MS Dhoni expressed that the ideal moment to retire would have been after winning the title.

However, he has made a promise to play for at least one more season, provided his health allows it. Currently, Dhoni is focusing on his recovery, and after three weeks of rest following the surgery, he will commence the rehabilitation process.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently met with Dhoni in Mumbai to assess his health. It has been decided that Dhoni will refrain from playing until January or February and will take a three-week break before starting his recovery process.

Viswanathan emphasized that there is no need to discuss this timeline again as it has been agreed upon.

In terms of Dhoni’s future, Viswanathan expressed confidence in Dhoni’s understanding of his goals and the best approach to achieve them. Instead of CSK questioning Dhoni about his plans, he will have direct communication with N Srinivasan regarding his future plans.

Viswanathan also mentioned that Dhoni never mentioned his knee issue until the final game. Despite everyone being aware of his struggle while running, Dhoni never complained about his knee to anyone throughout the tournament.

It was only after the final that he decided to undergo surgery. Dhoni has now successfully undergone the surgery, and he is in good spirits and on the path to recovery.
