Ashneer Grover, the co-founder of BharatPe, has launched a new cricket-focused fantasy sports app called CrickPe just in time for the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament. The app will be up against competitors such as Dream11, Mobile Premier League (MPL), and Games24x7’s My11Circle.
Grover’s new venture, Third Unicorn Pvt Ltd, has secured $4 million in seed funding from over two dozen angel investors, including Anmol Singh Jaggi, Anirudh Kedia, and Vishal Kedia. Previously, Grover had been associated with unicorns BharatPe and Grofers.
How to play IPL on Crickpe in 2023?
CrickPe is targeting the upcoming IPL tournament for its launch and has already started allowing users to participate in contests for IPL matches, starting from March 31, 2023.
With its focus solely on cricket and a promising start with significant seed funding, CrickPe could well give its competitors a run for their money in the coming months.
How to download Crickpe?
The platform is available on both Android and iOS and allows users above the age of 18 to create virtual cricket teams and participate in contests to earn points and cash prizes based on the actual performances of the cricketers in real-life matches.
One of the unique features of the platform is that users can offer “cash rewards” to real cricketers for good performance, with amounts ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 100,000 per cricketer per financial year.
Features of the Crickpe App?
CrickPe, the recently launched cricket-focused fantasy sports app, is designed for users over 18 years of age who can create virtual cricket teams and participate in paid contests to win cash prizes based on the
performance of real-life players.
The app also allows users to create private groups and compete against each other for rewards. CrickPe will charge a 10% platform fee for any public or private contest. However, it offers free contests for users to improve their skills.
One unique feature of the platform is that it enables users to send cash rewards to their favourite cricketers, ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 100,000 per cricketer per financial year.
From June 2023, CrickPe will charge a 10% fee for transactions of cash rewards accepted by cricketers. However, the app is not acting as an agent of the cricketers and is only offering the feature as a user agent.

It is true that offering external rewards or payouts to players can raise concerns related to match-fixing and other unethical practices in sports.
However, it is important to note that Crickpe’s cash rewards feature is not mandatory, and users can choose to participate in contests without offering any cash rewards to players.
It remains to be seen how the platform’s cash rewards feature will be received by users and players, and whether it will raise any legal or ethical concerns in the future.
Overall, CrickPe offers a range of exciting features for cricket enthusiasts and fantasy sports fans, making it a promising player in the crowded and competitive fantasy sports app market.
