The International League Twenty20 (ILT20) is set to be an exciting new cricket competition held in the United Arab Emirates in 2024. The league will feature six franchise-owned teams, with squads representing different cities across the UAE.
The inaugural season of the ILT20 took place in Jan-Feb 2023. The tournament format will see all teams play against each other twice in a double round-robin system. Matches will be played in both home and away stadiums.
Teams will be awarded two points for a win and one point each for a tie. After the double round-robin, the top three teams on the points table will advance to the playoff stage. Net run rate will be used to break ties between teams with equal points.
The playoffs will feature two semifinals and a championship final match to decide the ILT20 champions. In total, there will be 34 matches – 31 group stage, 2 semifinals and the final.
The ILT20 aims to attract top international players from around the world with its franchise-based model. The league has already generated excitement ahead of its first season, with several star cricketers confirming their participation.
Cricket fans can look forward to an entertaining tournament featuring elite players when the International League T20 launches its inaugural season in early 2024. The league promises to bring high-quality T20 cricket action to the UAE.

ILT20 Opening Ceremony 2024
The first match of the International T20 League in UAE will probably be held on January 13, 2024. Before that, on 12th January there will be an opening ceremony held. Who will perform in the opening ceremony is still not known.
